Our adventure begins.
We make birdcages for hunters’ purposes in plastic coated wire.
“At that time nobody believed in this product”
Officially, the Ferplast Company came into being in the hamlet called Costo di Arzignano in 1966, in a room of only 50 sq m and was located in a courtyard shared with private homes. By my side was my sister, very precious to me, who would in the future cover very important positions in the Company. Nobody believed that plastic-coated iron birdcages could ever have a future, and if anyone asked me what I was making I would tell them that I was making wire mesh. If I said I was making birdcages they would just laugh. Not even when I was very young did I think that I would become a lawyer, or a doctor, or an airline pilot. I wanted to be a craftsman: I wanted to make something.I thought that eventually I would have a small workshop with a small house and perhaps 10 employees just like many other entrepreneurs around the Venetian region.My goals back then were nothing as grand as Ferplast is today.
Seventies
Birdcages for hunters were soon replaced by cages for canaries and domestic birds. We start making plastic components by ourselves, such as cage bottoms, feeders, and some accessories for dogs and cats.

Eighties
We start exporting abroad. We open our commercial branches in Europe.

Ninenties
We open our plastic department for the production of accessories for all kind of pets’ comfort. Our catalogue now comprises accessories for dogs, cats, birds and small animals.
2000 Opening of Ukraine plant.
2005 Opening of Slovakia plant.
2004
The new adventure in the world of aquariology begins.

We start a cultural revolution bringing to the new trademark and pay-off new pet generation,
spreading awareness of the special relationship between man and animals, whether it’s a dog, cat, fish, bird or rodent.
Our mission: bring the new pet generation into the world, make an ever growing number of pets and their owners happier and feel more comfortable.
2008
It’s time for the generational change.
Nicola Vaccari, the founder’s son, is nominated by his father General Manager for the Ferplast Group.
